Kwali's first summer camp: JTL building bridges through camps, mentorship, scholarships

On May 12, 2025, Justice through Literacy launched its first ever summer camp in Kwali, Abuja, with the goal of exposing 20 underprivileged children (and their families) to education. The children learn to read and write, think about math puzzles in real-world contexts, and program in Scratch.

The program kicked off with the parents' engagement session, giving the parents a comfortable space to discuss education as is in Kwali while encouraging them to support the education of their children despite the difficulty in accessing financial aid to do so. The founder of JTL and director of the camp reassured parents of JTL's continued support and promised to sponsor some of the kids on full and partial scholarships following the conclusion of the camp.

JTL is committed to empowring children from low-income communities through camps like "The Peace Camp", mentorship, and scholarship and we appreciate the opportunity to serve members of the Kwali community.
